It is said that we are never “complete” on our personal development journeys. We are all a work in progress, and emotional intelligence (EQ) is something that can be developed with some self-awareness, patience, and persistence. This session is designed to provide an overview of emotional intelligence (EQ), why it matters in the workplace, and how HR professionals can use their knowledge of EQ to attract, develop and retain talented employees. Participants will be able to define emotional intelligence and how it relates to an employee’s job performance; use a self- assessment tool with employees to help them gain insight into their own EQ strengths and weaknesses; and list specific strategies to help employees strengthen their own EQ.

As the CEO of Building Better Futures, LLC, Jennifer is a Trainer, Coach, and Motivational Speaker with the mission to empower people to live their best lives.
