Meet Our Panelists:

  • Jim Amanatides, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, Sr. Consultant, Pinnacle Human Resources, LLC 

    Jim is a consultant with over 25 years’ experience in large corporate and small business non-union environments.  He has worked in organizations with responsibilities across the U.S. so he is well versed in different state regulations.  Jim’s primary areas of expertise are policy development and implementation, employee relations, leave management and benefit administration.

    Jim recently worked as an HR consultant serving clients of both small and large companies with ad-hoc employee relations, benefit, leave management, and compliance issues. He assist with creating employee handbooks.  He has also performed HR audits for organizations to help them achieve HR and operational efficiency to better serve the organization. He is currently working with growing business to create a human resources function. Jim’s professional experience is in the manufacturing, technology and insurance industries.

    Jim is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management and Capital Region Human Resources Association where he is a member of the Workforce Readiness Programs Committee and spent 6 years as board member and ending as President.  He holds the Society of Human Resources Management certification SHRM-SCP and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certifications. 
  • Carolyn Baker, PHR, SHRM-CP, Director of People and Culture, GP Fund Solutions

    Carolyn has been in Human Resources for over 20 years. She currently is Director of People and Culture at GP Fund Solutions, a Private Equity Fund Administration company located in Latham. Prior to GP Fund Solutions, Carolyn worked with Ethos Veterinary Health as a Practice Partner supporting eight Emergency and Specialty veterinary hospitals in NY, NH, VT and VA.  Prior to that role, she was a Recruiter at AngioDynamics. Carolyn holds a Bachelor’s Degree at Empire State College and is certified as a PHR by HRCi and SHRM as a Certified Professional.

    Alison relies on more than two decades of HR and recruitment experience to identify and connect talent with organizations, and help individuals position themselves for success in the job market. She founded Hudson River Career Resources to provide job seekers with the assistance they need to find and secure job roles they’ll thrive in. Services include resume writing and career search assistance and outplacement.

    Alison co-founded and served as a past president of the Capital Region Recruiters’ Network (CRRN), and served as a long-time board member and former president of the Capital Region HR Association (CRHRA). She currently serves on several boards and volunteer organizations. She has written numerous published articles on various topics related to the job search field and her career advice is featured in a book on
