Rebecca's Reflections - April
by: Rebecca Harris, CRHRA President
Spring always feels like a reset, and for our board, that’s exactly what April was.
During our 2026 strategic planning session, we focused on how to better serve you. In 2026, our priorities are simple: grow our community, elevate our programming, and build stronger connections with our members.
One of the ways we’ll be doing that is through monthly polls. You’ll start seeing quick questions like:
- What topics matter most to you right now?
- How do you prefer to attend events, virtual or in person, maybe both?
- What challenges are you navigating this year?
These insights will directly shape what we offer, so when you see a poll, please take a moment to respond. It helps us build programming that’s actually useful to you!
We’re also looking to grow our leadership team. Filling our Board of Directors and expanding our volunteer base is a key focus this year. If you’ve been thinking about getting more involved, this is a great time. We currently have openings in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Sponsorship, and we’re always looking for co-chairs to support
future leadership.
Our annual conference with CRATD is just under four weeks away, and we’re excited about what’s coming together. This year’s event has been shaped by past feedback and fresh ideas to create something both informative and energizing. If you haven’t secured your spot yet, there’s still time.
Finally, I had the opportunity to attend the NYS State Council Meeting in Binghamton on April 24th. It was a great reminder of the strength of our broader HR community and the value of staying connected across chapters.
As we move further into spring, I encourage you to take a moment to recharge, whether that’s stepping outside for a walk or simply taking a pause in your day.
Yours in service,
Rebecca
